THE COURSE

National Volleyball was created for the Graphic Design Workshop course taught and directed by professor Keith Rushton.

The project developed as a self-directed, year-long thesis in which the student could create any body of work that they wanted, whether it was for personal interest, or as an aid for future career development. The student had complete control over the work they created.
THE PROJECT

As a volleyball player, I found it frustrating that the sport didn't have a prominent space in North America as a professional sport.

Unlike basketball and soccer, volleyball isn't as accessible outside of teams and clubs which leaves veteran players and beginners alike without an opportunity to play.

Without a national league and proper media presence, the sport goes unnoticed and underappreciated.
THE GOAL

My goal as a designer was to create a piece that could bring excitement and awareness to the sport.

Hence, National Volleyball was born.

Through advertising, educating, and conceptualizing, my hope is that National Volleyball will act as a spark igniting a new passion for the sport.
